Classification/Compensation

November salary actions for SHRA and EHRA received in HR via PeopleAdmin by 5:00 pm on Friday, 11/2/2018 will receive priority review to meet the 11/13/2018 payroll lockout deadline.

December salary actions for SHRA and EHRA received in HR via PeopleAdmin by 5:00 pm on Wednesday, 11/21/2018 will receive priority review to meet the 12/6/2018 payroll lockout deadline.

Talent Acquisition

Postings received by 5:00 pm on Friday, 12/14/2018 will receive priority for posting prior to the Winter Break. Hiring proposals received by 5:00 pm on Tuesday, 12/18/2018 will receive priority for approval before the Winter Break.

Background Checks

Background checks will continue to be processed as completed release forms are received from candidates, with priority given to urgent start dates. JAR actions for Spring semester (early January) hires received by HR on or before Friday, December 7 will be given priority. Please encourage candidates to complete the electronic background check forms as soon as possible in order for the background check process to begin quickly.

International Employment

H-1B petitions continue to require a 3-4 week lead-time. Please keep this in mind and engage International Employment as early as possible for your January/February start dates to account for the upcoming holidays and winter break.

Regarding I-9s, please remember that the University is closed on Tuesday, January 1, 2019, so if that will be the actual start date for any new employees, please be sure to work with an I-9 User in your college or unit to make sure that the employee completes Section 1 of the I-9 form no later than January 1 (or ideally before that date). He/she will then need to complete Section 2 of the form with an I-9 User no later than Friday, January 4, 2019.
